So you have decided to renovate part of your house before getting a residential contractor in chicago il. This means that construction can be started soon. It’s not so easy! It’s important to plan for every step of a renovation.

Step 1.

Our consultations begin with a phone interview. This allows us to get a better idea of your project. The initial conversation will focus on three things: your preferred start date, your budget and the scope of the work you want. After we have this information, we can set up a time and date that is most convenient for you to meet in-home or virtually.

Step 2.

One of our interior designers will visit you or connect via video conferencing during this phase. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other, learn about your needs, and take measurements. It is helpful to have the dimensions for your space available to share if you are conducting a virtual visit. This visit may take anywhere from one to three hours, depending on how much work is involved. We must not rush so that we don’t miss any details. You can find out how to prepare for your initial visit. You will get an estimate within a short time after your visit.

Step 3.

Now is the right time to sign your contract if you have read your estimate. Chi Renovation values convenience, and all paperwork can be done electronically. Once we have received your contract, you will be invoiced for the down payment. Then comes the fun part: material selections!

Step 4.

This process can seem daunting to DIYers. However, it is easy when you work with our skilled designer. Your design will be based on the information provided during your at-home visit and your collection of images. Don’t worry if your design isn’t perfect! You always have the option to make adjustments. The material board can also be viewed digitally, but we recommend that you arrange a material meeting to see the finishes in person. These finishes will last forever, so it is important that you are confident about your choices and also love how they look in your space. Once you have given us your approval, we will draft your material agreement. This ensures that all fixtures and finishes are properly documented and can be ordered for your project. All materials are stored in our off-site warehouse until construction begins.

Step 5.

Once all materials have been chosen, your designer will coordinate with your schedule to arrange your pre-construction meeting. Your project manager will meet you at this meeting to review your work plan, take measurements, and look at the area. Your project manager will be available to help with any questions you might have. If you have a design-specific problem, your primary point of contact is your project manager.
