Winter can be really ruthless, more specifically when it comes to expecting some relief in your bathroom. Waking up from a bed and walking onto a frigid bathroom floor is a dreadful thought to anyone.

Today we have shared some bathroom heating tips to keep it warm and welcoming even during the chilly month of the year.

Six Tips to keep your Bathroom Warm in the Winter

Use Warm Tones

Adorn your bathroom with warm strokes of paint as it gives your space an intimate look and feel. Colors like off-white, pale yellow, beige, or even shades of reds can create a welcoming and cozy space.

And colors such as cherry or oak, which has dark food finishing touch gives an inviting atmosphere to your bathroom.

Though these have more impact on our visuals, colors also have a significant effect on the temperature too. So, they are not just for creating an illusion!

Install Underfloor Heating

One of the luxurious and effective methods to make your bathroom warm during the winters is by installing electric underfloor heating. These layers of cables and wires beneath the floor give a warm feel to your feet and makes your bathroom a place to relax all-round the year.  It is also an energy-efficient way to heat your bathroom, and it increases the valuation of your property to a great extent.

Since it needs to be installed underneath the flooring, most people prefer to install it during the renovation. However, it is simple to install, and you can get an electrician to do it at any time.

Use Natural Light

Have windows placed strategically so that the washroom is illuminated with the sunlight during the day. The temperature increases mildly during the day, even during chilly weather. Pull off the blinds and curtains till there’s daylight and pull them down, post it to hold the heat inside. Blinds or curtains made of thermal are suitable for retaining heat. They also accent the aesthetics of the washroom, and the added blanket protection prevents the washroom from the outside cold.

Keep a Warm Towel Handy

A heated towel after a hot bath is one of the best things to be expected in the cold day. You can keep a warm towel handy before going for the bath. Or, if possible, install a towel warmer.  You can easily get heated towel racks and stands from any home store. They are easy to use – simply plug it into a wall outlet and warm up the towels. Some of these can also be connected to the hot water system of the house, so you do not have to pay any extra electricity charge to operate too.

Check for Cracks

Cracks in the window frames or any gaps can majorly impact the temperature inside your washroom. So, before the winters start, check the window frames to see if there’s any cold air seeping through the cracks. In case you find that the sealing around windows is old and cracking, it is better to remove it and add a new sealing. For the outer side, use weatherizing silicone caulk, and for sealing the interior, you can use inexpensive tubes of acrylic caulk.

Heat Lamps

Your bathroom will surely have lights – before this winter hits, switch to heat lamps. They will give you both light and warmth. They are splash proof, and because of their infrared heating technique, the room warms up quickly.

However, unlike regular lights, it is better to get the heat lamps installed by the electrician as it is better to check the wiring of the bathroom before installing these.
