You, your spouse/partner, a family member, or friend can choose a music school. It is just like selecting a doctor, a car, or even a house. Do your research! You will be investing your time and money in the school you choose, so it is important to feel confident about your decision.
Here are some things you should look at when choosing a south bay music school.
Great teachers in guitar, piano, and other subjects!
Great teachers are essential for a great music school. For example, when you are looking for piano teachers, make sure you ask about their qualifications. This will allow you to gain a better understanding of the teacher’s musical background and training. You’ll also want to get to know the person to determine if they are the right fit. All of our instructors are either music school or conservatory trained, and many have performed professionally. They have also been to some of the best music schools, including NYU, Manhattan School of Music, and Aaron Copland School of Music.
Comfortable Facilities
The music school will be where you spend most of your time, so it is important to feel at ease. Ask about the availability of waiting rooms for parents who bring their children to lessons. Also, inquire about if your child can practice in the waiting room. If you are the student, inquire about the music rooms and learn all the amenities that you have. Our music school clients have access to a waiting area with WiFi, comfortable chairs, and bottled water. You can also view lessons from our music studios through French Doors.
Flexibility
You should never be punished for a time or a place that conflicts with your lesson schedule. You should still look for a school that is flexible and offers the opportunity to make up any lessons missed. You should also find a school that can work around your schedule and offers classes at convenient times. Grace Music School does not require a semester minimum for lessons. We also offer flexible make-up policies so that you don’t have to miss a lesson. Our students sign up for lessons on a monthly basis so that there are no long-term commitments. Our students typically come to us between 11 and 2 pm, but we offer multiple classes so you can find the right class for you.
Don’t forget about testimonials and references! It is important to find out if the school has been successful and well-respected by students.
